1What this test counts

1.1The themes counted

Your answers are spread across 4 themes, each counted on its own.

Table 1. The 4 themes of this test, and the number of questions feeding each one.
ThemeQuestions
Basalis, keeps its word6
Cendaris, lights it first6
Ventaris, nothing settles6
Undaris, reads the current6

  1. Each question feeds a single theme: the column total is the number of questions in the test.

1.2Limits of this test

This quiz measures nothing. It does not tell you who you are, it predicts nothing, and a house is not a personality trait: it is a family of behaviours invented for the game. No house is better than another, and taking the quiz again on another day may well hand you a different one.

2How this test is made

This test is written for Brain Quiz, for fun: the situations are invented and the score counts answers in a game.

Entertainment quiz. The four houses, their names, their mottos and the twenty-four situations were written for Brain Quiz. No published scale is reproduced, and the world is original: it borrows no name, no place and no faction from any existing book, film, series or game. The house names are built on mineral and natural roots, and were checked as unclaimed before being kept.

2.1How the score is counted

Each situation is worth 0 to 4 points and all twenty-four carry exactly the same weight: no house is favoured. The four axes are computed separately, as a percentage of the maximum reachable on their six situations, and your house is simply the highest axis. The overall score out of 100 points to no house at all: it only measures how strongly you answered, with the four reversed items counted the other way round. Answering in half tones throughout keeps it low, answering at full volume pushes it up. The thresholds were set by the editorial team, they come from no calibration.

3About this test

Four houses, and none of them is the bad one. This quiz sorts your answers into a world written for Brain Quiz, with no connection to any existing work: the four houses were invented here, and their names are built on mineral and natural roots. Basalis is rock. Motto: what holds, holds. Basalis says eight o'clock and turns up at eight o'clock, keeps the group's keys, and hates a plan that moves three days before it happens. Solid, and perfectly capable of sitting on one decision for six months. Cendaris is the ember under the ash. Motto: light it first. Cendaris makes the call when the group has been hesitating for twenty minutes, says out loud what everyone else is staring at in silence, and burns bright for two weeks before moving on. Ventaris is wind. Motto: nothing settles. Ventaris has forty tabs open, learns three useless things a week, starts everything, finishes some of it, and changes its mind without paying any price for it. Undaris is the wave. Motto: read the current. Undaris watches before walking in, knows who is having a rough day before they say so, waits for the right moment to speak, and remembers details everyone else dropped long ago. Twenty-four situations, six per house. Your house is the one that comes out highest. The overall score points to no house at all: it only says whether you answered with the handbrake on or at full volume. Entertainment, no scientific value.
